It has been confirmed that Standard Life are having exclusive and advances discussion with Pheonix Group Holdings, in order to potential buy Ignis Asset Management.
Standard Life alone manages £224 billion of assets. Ignis Asset Management is responsible for £65.6 billion of assets under management, and provides a range of investment services including fixed income and real estate.
The discussion is ongoing and there is no certainty to it will result in an acquisition.
